Parents or Guardians,
I’d like
to take this opportunity to welcome the students of this
year’s Intervention class. It is my goal to do everything I
can to empower students to meet and exceed the expectations set
forth on the Washington
Assessment of Student Learning (WASL). This
class will meet on blue days, which typically alternate every other
day of the school week. We will work on the following areas, as
well as try to focus on specific needs of students wherever
possible.
· number sense
· measurement
· geometry
· algebraic
sense
· probability and
statistics
· logic
· problem
solving
· strategies
Grading:
6th Grade:
6th grade elective classes are scored on a pass/fail
scale. In my class you must attain a minimum of a 60% to pass this
class.
7th Grade:
7th grade students will be scored just like their core
academic classes. This class will effect your student’s grade
point average. This class should be approached like any of the
other core classes. (Come prepared and complete all
assignments.)
Students will be graded on various
assignments during the quarter/semester. Grades will be updated
frequently and posted so that you are able to stay current with
their progress.
I am looking forward to a great
school year. The easiest way to contact me will be through e-mail
or my school swift website. My email is jmullen@tahomaSD.US
