Welcome to the 6th & 7th Grade Choir Page!
This site serves the choir students of both TMS & CRMS.

Mrs. Rupert teaches choir at TMS on blue days and CRMS on gold days. The choir program at both middle schools is strong and a source of pride at school and in the community.  Singing opportunities, both curricular and extra-curricular are as follows:

6th grade Exploratory Choir: 
All 6th graders that are not enrolled in band will rotate through 1 quarter (9 weeks) of choir.  Students do not need any prior experience or natural ability to be successful in exploratory choir, as grading is almost entirely based on individual effort when the whole group is singing and the level of positive (non-disruptive) participation during each class.  While not required to perform, most exploratory students prefer to sing at the end of the quarter concert for their "exit exam" points. Exploratory singers can also opt to take the written exit exam in lieu of performing at the concert.

6th grade "Full Year Choir": 
A small number of 6th grade singers are eligible to sing in choir all year, either by being nominated at the end of their 5th grade year by their elementary honor choir director OR by being invited by Mrs. Rupert to continue after she has gotten to know them through the exploratory choir rotation.  The "full year singers" are in the same class as the exploratory choir, so Mrs. Rupert looks to them to lead by example and to attend the quarterly performances. A limited number of exploratory singers will be invited to continue singing with the full year group at the end of each quarter.  The full year choir will need to purchase the $15 choir T-shirt that is worn as our performance attire.   
 
7th grade Concert Choir:
7th grade choir is a full year elective that the students chose to enroll in, so a high level of positive participation is expected! The only prerequisite is that the students enjoy singing and understand that their attendance at quarterly concerts is required. There are several additional performance opportunities throughout the year that are not required, please see the event calendar below for a complete list of dates. Singers must purchase the $15 choir T-shirt that is worn as our performance attire.
