TN_nihar.gif Welcome to Mrs. John's 6th Grade Math/Science Class
Hello 3rd Quarter!
Students,
3rd quarter is here! Here is a great opportunity to do even better than you did in the first two quartersr! You are now all professionals on what it takes to be 6th grades so here is the time to start perfecting your skills! We have two more months together until Baby John arrives and I am excited to spend this time with you. In that time we will be learning about weather, drugs and alcohol, and finally FLASH. All good things to come! Keep up the great work and I am so proud of you.
Keys on being a successful 6th grader:
1. Being ORGANIZED is key! Your planners are going to be your best friend, so use them and complete the tasks everyday! 2. COMMUNICATION! Being honest and truthful on how you are doing in terms of school work and life are very important! 3. Be POSITIVE! There will be times during the year that things will be challenging and hard. Don't give up and don't be afraid to ask for help! 4. Remember Mrs. John is always here to lend a helping hand or ear to listen.

Hello Science Parents,

We are going to be using an earth science curriculum for 6th grade science based on the Next Generation Science Standards from the federal government. 90% of the year will be this  curriculum and we also have two health units we teach in science: FLASH (family life and sexual health) and Project Alert (drug and alcohol unit). The earth science curriculum will prepare your student for science now and in the future. There will be many opportunities for your student to provide personal experience in relation to what we are studying. If your student needs extra help, they are encouraged to let me know. I am available most Tuesdays after school, or by appointment. Remember if you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me. Thank you for all your support and encouragement!

Hello Math Parents,

Get ready to see your student work in math! This is an accelerated course, which means we have lots to cover! Your student will have online access to a book and if needed they can check a book out at the library. Please help encourage your student to not just do their homework for the night but also do some reflecting on the concepts studied. Fully utilizing all their resources will help your student succeed. Remember if your student feels like they are struggling with concepts they are encouraged to chat with me during GO time, Tuesdays after school, or by appointment

A little about Mrs. John,
This is my 5th year teaching at CRMS! I love being a bear, teaching math, teaching science, watching baseball (GO M's), spending time with my family, and doing anything on or near the water. I am so excited to work will all of you this year! It is going to be a great year!

Again, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns regarding my class or CRMS. Go Bears!
