Welcome!
The PTA welcomes you and your student to the 2009-2010 school year. The PTA at the secondary level is a collective effort by volunteers representing Cedar River Middle School, Tahoma Middle School and Tahoma Junior High known as the Tahoma Junior High/Middle School PTA (TJH/MS PTA.)

What does the PTA do?
We help in a variety of areas, in and out of school… Board Meetings with Principals, School Registration, Weekly Ice Cream Event, Health Screenings, Newsletters, School Parties, Drama Productions, Special Events, Teacher Appreciation, Teacher Assistance, Fundraising, School Bookfair, and School Pictures to name a few!

How can I join PTA?
The PTA is a terrific organization that sponsors many outstanding events for all our students. We focus on keeping families informed about upcoming events and offer parent educational programs throughout the year. If you would like to join, please fill out the membership form


PTA Board Meetings
Held the first Thursday of the month, the two middle schools and junior high PTA board members gather to review the minutes from the previous month and outline upcoming needs at the schools. All meetings are open to the general public.  Next meeting scheduled for December 3, 2009 at Tahoma Middle School at 9:30 a.m. The agenda will be posted one week prior to the meeting and can be found under Documents.

When is the Next General Membership Meeting?
The next General Membership meeting is TBD.


What is the PTA Round Table Meeting?
On the Third Thursday of each month during the school year, each PTA president (or their representative) attend the monthly meetings are designed to faciliate communication within our district and coordinate efforts/resources to support our schools. In addition to PTA representatives, Superintendent, Mike Maryanski; Public Information Officer, Kevin Patterson; TEA representative (the teacher's union), School Board Mary Jane Glaser; a representative from CTC (Communities that Care)
also attend.

How do I get Tahoma Junior High to show up on the list of schools?
Choose "Tahoma" as Group Name or list Ravensdale as the city for TJH.

Opportunities for Kids
The Den Youth Center is starting its new Homework Zone. A great place for kids looking for homework help, a quiet place to study, or exclusive use of the computer lab is now open from Tuesday through Thursdays 3-5 pm. Other fun activities include movie nights, Girls Night Out, to Battle of the Bands.
