Announcements

Coach Hulme and Coach Davis want to thank all the girls that tried out for the 2016 Golden Girls Volleyball team.  Over the last three days, we saw a lot of improvement in skills, hustle, and team spirit.  We want to remind you if you don't see your name on this list, make sure you find other opportunities to continue playing.  If there is any way we can help with that please let us know.

Congratulations to the 2016 Golden Girls Volleyball Team:

Things You Will Need for Practice

Tahoma Gold Spirit!

T-Shirt  (PE/athletic style; not "fashion")  GET A LOANER IF YOU NEED ONE!

Shorts  (vb/spandex or PE/athletic)

Shoes  (athletic, not skate or fashion; vb, bb, or crosstrainers are best--running shoes decrease performance and increase the risk of injuries)   Volleyball shoes, at various price points, are available at local sporting goods stores and online.

Socks  (athletic; "fashion" can cause blisters)

Knee Pads  Remember: NOTHING HITS THE FLOOR BUT YOU!

Hair and Jewelry Management   This is mandatory; non-negotiable.    Elastic headbands and ponies only--metal hair pieces and all jewelry (except very specific medical and religious exceptions) are prohibited by state athletic regulations.

Water Bottle  (optional; fountains are available)

Be a good teammate! Help your teammates be ready to roll!

Eat, Drink, and Play!!
Volleyball is a demanding sport, mentally and physically.

The Golden Girls sometimes find themselves challenged to maintain their energy level and mental focus for the full length of practice. This significantly affects their ability to make

progress and prepare for upcoming competition. In fact, the starting time for their matches is about the same time they often "crash" in practice, so the problem will only be magnified

when it's time to be competitive!

How can this challenge be addressed?

In order to prepare and perform at their best, it is ESSENTIAL that players EAT and DRINK for success!

-Healthy Breakfast

-Healthy Lunch

-Healthy, High-Protien Snack before Practice or Match!

-Healthy Drinks

HYDRATE--but cut the sugar and caffiene.

Look at the label; check for electrolytes such as potassium, sodium, etc.,

but minimal or no sugar.

Or.....just stick with good old water.

Want to be your best on the court?

Eat and Drink like you mean it!
