Success in the New Economy

Each student is required to turn in the syllabus signature page. Click on the Documents tab for each syllabus. Please read the syllabus online and then print the signed signature page only and turn it in.

In this class you will be learning the basics of Marketing. You will be able to use your knowledge and skills during the projects you will create in class.

Projects for Semester 1:

9) Final: 1 to 3 person project: (choose one) Entreneuership, Advertising Campaign, Fashion promotion Plan, Professional Selling, or Two(2) roleplay situations (see below). Each project includes a 100 question mutiple choice test, a written report and a presentation.
10) Hot Chocolate Empire Task. The hot chocolate will be sold in January.

You need to make up a test or presentation? Give Mr. Jackson at least two days notice to schedule an appointment for before or after school.

Advanced Marketing

During this class you will be using your knowledge and skills that you developed in your Marketing class to complete many projects thet you will create in class. You are required to chose a written DECA project that will be submitted to State. You will also compete at the Deca Area Conference in January.

PC Technology/Tahoma IT Academy

PC Tech is a Systems Management Class (MTA Certification). There are 3 Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) certifications you can receive in this class:

Windows Server Administration Fundamentals 98-365
Networking Fundamentals 98-366
Security Fundamentals 98-367

This is not just a studying for certification class, it is a hands on lab class. The students will use what they have learned by the THS Bear Computers project. Each student is required to refurbish 5 computers. This includes troubleshooting, cleaning, replacing bad parts, creating images, connecting the computer to a network, installing an image, configuring the install, quality checking, training and help desk duties.

Retail Operations

You will be running our own student store in this lab class. A food handlers permit is required (See below). 

Remember: Your grade is the two week progress report. There are 10 points for each 2 week grade period. 3 points for your productivity in the classroom (1 of those points are for APP), and 7 points for your productivity in the store. These are all or none numbers. You need to be ready for work when you get to class.


One of the ways you will be graded is by using the new Virtual Business Retailing online program. To use the program, go to the link below and login. You need to register first and get the Course Key from Mr. Jackson. 




If you are submitting a new product for The Bear Den, you need to go to The Bear Den website to enter the product nutritional facts into the system. When you get to the site, click on the Healthy Choices for THS link
