This two-semester (year long) course is the most common science course for college prep (most universities requiring a third year of science).  While the prerequisite is Inquiry III-IV, students that have received a "C" or better in both Inquiry and Geometry are traditionally the most successful.  Teachers of Chemistry estimate that successful students spend between 2 and 3 hours per week doing homework.   Topics include* atomic structure, molecular geometry, reactions, stoichiometry, chemical bonding, gas laws, solutions, equilibrium, and acids/bases.  This course combines  the concepts of chemistry with an inquiry-based, hands-on approach to learning.  Students will leave this class not only better prepared for college but also, more informed citizens.
