Coordinated  8th  Grade  Science
SWIFT  web  site
All 8th Grade students take the "same" 8th science course - just with different teachers.  Same stuff, same day, etc.
ALL 8th Science students/parents should use this SITE

Chemistry Part B Test Results
Class average was around 73% so no need for a curve.
Students did much better not having lots of "very high or very low" scores - they were more normalized with many getting average - as it should be.
It looks like most are studying properly now (others still need to be!).
STUDENTS WHO MISSED THE TEST MUST MAKE IT UP WITHIN ONE WEEK
(ARRANGE WITH TEACHER ASAP)
REVIEW SESSION MONDAY, 09 NOV After-School
(must have completed form from Unit 0 - General Help and special Activity Bus will be available at 3:20)
Re-TEST
TUESDAY, 10 NOV After-School

TROUBLE OPENING A Word Document or PowerPoint file ?
Try saving it to your hard-drive first, then opening it.
PPT Shows (.pps) should work on any computer
(whether you have PowerPoint or not)
* also you may need to "enable" macros
For Word documents, if you don't have Word, save it to your hard-drive and then use this free Adobe .pdf converter:
http://www.doc2pdf.net/
For a free Adobe .pdf Reader go here:

SCIENCE EQUIPMENT (get ASAP):
FLASHCARDS (part of equipment list)
need about 500  3" x 5" Index Cards (will last the whole year)

8th Grade Science is not "hard" - but you will work hard.
Do what you are asked, when you are asked
and you shouldn't have any trouble passing the course.

If you want more than just passing, you will, of course, have to work harder.

We number the classes from 1 to about 90 (end of year). The Events calendar will show Entry Questions/Exit Statments for each class, as well as Homework assigned and general class activities. Any handouts or PowerPoints used in a class are in the Documents for downloading (PPTs are unlocked after the last class has seen them because they have answers in them).
* document names start with the number of the class it was used/handed out to make them easy to find
HW = HomeWork    HO = HandOut   PPT = PowerPoint

Students and Parents should use this site often (especially when absent since students are still responsible for the work).
This site is a great aid for  success in class.

** if you miss a video - or want to see one again, we can only put them on the district's Public drive due to copyrights (bring headphones and watch on a school computer after school)
