In this elective class you will have the opportunity to "digitally explore" a variety of computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Paint. You will learn how a computer and the internet work. You will also develop and apply; on-line safety habits, appropriate digital communication practices, effective internet search strategies and proper digital citizenship. Additionally you may build and program a robot, create electrical circuits and learn how to write computer languages through coding. Lastly, throughout the term you will practice keyboarding skills using a variety of programs and games.

Whether you are a techno whiz kid, an apprehensive beginner or somewhere in-between I hope you find your time in Digital Exploration to be enriching, rewarding and fun.

I am looking forward to a great quarter "Digitally Exploring" together!

7th Grade:

Welcome to 3D Modeling & Design!

3D-MD is a “Project Lead the Way” program designed to provide all students with the opportunity to solve real world problems through the application of the STEM, (science, technology, engineering and math) fields. In this “What If” introductory engineering class you will apply the engineering design process to solve problems. Through hands on activity based projects you will learn how to keep an engineering journal, create technical drawings, and use Autodesk Inventor, (a computer assisted design program.) Additionally, you will construct prototypes of your designs, explore STEM careers and gain skills in communication, collaboration, critical-thinking, and creativity by working with partners and in teams.

Whether you are an engineering whiz kid, an apprehensive beginner or somewhere in-between I hope that you find your time in 3D-MD to be enriching, rewarding and fun.

I am looking forward to a great semester “Modeling and Designing” together!
