Health and Fitness Content

Purpose: Students are empowered by learning important health and fitness concepts, realizing the benefits and in turn, choosing to live a healthy and active life!

Nutrition: Students will learn the importance of eating from all 5 food groups everyday in order to get appropriate nutrients which is essential for proper health. 

Fitness: Students will learn the importance of exercising from 4 of the components of fitness in order to have balanced fitness: Cardiorespiratory Endurance, Muscular Strength, Muscular Endurance, and Flexibility.

Sleep: Students will learn the importance of getting 8-10 hours of uninterrupted sleep for optimum health and development. 

Manage Stress: Students will learn a variety of strategies for managing stress that reduce the risk of chronic disease and improve their quality of life.
