Hello 4th graders and families!

A little about your teacher Mrs. Turner

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you.  My name is Melissa Turner.  As we begin the 2019-2020 school year I will begin my fifteenth year of teaching.  I love working with the amazing staff of Tahoma Elementary school under the leadership of Mr. Gaston.  The educators and support staff of TES make this school the best place to be for learning and fun!

I live in Maple Valley with my husband, Matthew.  We enjoy camping, reading, gardening, bass fishing, going on road trips and attending Mariners games!  We have two cats (Lalanie and Kitty) and four goats (Nighthawk, Kenzo, Pepper and Goliath) who keep us very busy.

I truly love teaching children and am looking forward to working with fourth graders this year.  I feel this year will be a time for exploration of ideas, pursuing interests, and growing skills that will support each student in becoming life-long learners.  As a team, we (teacher, family, and child) can make this one of the best years of your child’s education.  There will be many opportunities for you to support our classroom and become involved with your child’s daily life in the classroom.

Please don't hesitate to contact me with questions at any time!
